Glacial Ridge Winery opened August 2007. We're
located on Hwy 23 just 15 minutes North of Willmar between Spicer and New London. There are many lakes and recreational areas in our back yard which, together with
a visit to our Winery, could make for a wonderful weekend away from the city.
The winery is located at the home of Jimmy Appleseed Orchard, which has over
850 apple trees boasting 12 different varieties. When apples are in season, they continue to
be offered for sale at the winery along with apple cider and caramel apples.
The winery was originally built as a bait and minnow house.
The back room has two different levels to accommodate minnow tanks, with the higher level making it easier to
lift buckets to pour minnows into trucks when they backed into the building for a load. Then the building was converted
to an apple house for selling fresh apples and frozen apple pies. Fresh apples, pumpkins and
other produce continue to be offered for sale during the fall season. Wine Production occurs in our newly renovated Wine Pavilion,
which also houses our event center.
We love to have fun at Glacial Ridge Winery and host a variety of special
events throughout the year. Some of our most popular include; The Summer Concert Series, The Annual Spring Feast,
Grape Stomp and Friday Night Soup Night. Be sure to check out our events tab for the latest on our
upcoming events.
The winery boasts the uniquely distinctive 'Barrel
Room', a walk-in, sit-down, lounge area. The Tasting Room, allows one
to sample the specialty wines Glacial Ridge Winery produces on site. A wonderful assortment of
wines and specialty gifts surround the walls of the winery to suit a variety of
shoppers' tastes and interests.
"Please join us for a friendly and pleasant winery experience!
We look forward to meeting you!"
